Terms

Clear terms for a high-stakes product.

Docgate is designed to help users understand important documents faster and act on them more clearly. It interprets what a document appears to say, but it does not replace professional advice or shift legal responsibility away from the person receiving it.

What Docgate does

Docgate provides AI-generated summaries, deadlines, action items, glossary entries, reply drafts, and follow-up workflow for important documents. It helps users understand what a document appears to say and what next steps it may require.

What Docgate does not do

Docgate is not legal, tax, immigration, financial, medical, or other professional advice. Users remain responsible for checking the source document, meeting deadlines, making submissions, and deciding when a qualified professional should review a high-stakes situation.

Plans, billing, and paid access

Docgate currently offers 2 instant scans without an account, 3 free scans per month with sign-in, a 5-scan pay-as-you-go option, and Pro subscription plans. Paid access unlocks more scanning and workflow features such as reply drafts, follow-up questions, timeline, reminders, calendar export, and cross-device history. Final billing, refund, and consumer-law review should still be completed before production launch.

Sensitive uploads and saved history

Docgate keeps the structured result as ongoing history, not the raw uploaded file. When Docgate can extract text locally, it may scrub common identifiers before AI analysis. Image uploads have metadata stripped, and image-based or scanned uploads may require review before analysis when visible text cannot be fully scrubbed locally. Some highly sensitive documents may be rejected when Docgate can clearly identify them before analysis.

Acceptable use

Docgate must not be used to upload illegal content, impersonate other people, or automate deceptive, fraudulent, or abusive document workflows.
